I decided to turn my 90 gallon salt into fresh. I previously ran a 75 gallon fresh and loved it. Last time around i used organic fertilizer, clay and capped it with eco complete. Ideally i would use eco again but am not patience  and want to get started. I prefer not to pay $24 a bag and don't want to for petco to go on sale. do you have any alternative and or mix substrate suggestions.

Ideally has:

nutrients (not inert)

a bit of density (i.e. eco vs some of the clays)

Dark color (ideally black)

i will have ~80 lbs of Caribsea Zack Attack sand here shortly that you could have.  probably would need to be cleaned out.
